The Effectiveness of Foot Massage in Reducing Post-Cesarean Section Pain at Ratu Zalecha Regional General Hospital, Martapura

Background: Caesarean section deliveries in Indonesia have been increasing from year to year. One of the impacts that can result from a caesarean section delivery is pain. An intervention that can be used to overcome post-cesarean section pain is foot massage. Objective: This study aims to provide nursing care to Mrs. N through the administration of foot massage to reduce post-cesarean pain.. Methods: The method in this study used a case study research design on Ny. N with the application of foot massage to reduce pain intensity. Measurement was done using an observation sheet, namely the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Foot massage was performed 2 times for 10-20 minutes and conducted in the postpartum room of RSUD Ratu Zalecha Martapura. Results and Discussion: The research results showed a decrease in the pain scale in Ny. N after being given a foot massage intervention. The pain scale decreased from a scale of 6 (moderate) to a scale of 3 (mild); nevertheless, the patient still received analgesic therapy during the procedure. Conclusion: Foot massage can be an alternative option for non-pharmacological nursing interventions to reduce pain in post-C-section mothers..
