HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) are global health issues with significant physical, psychological, and social impacts on individuals living with them. In Indonesia, while antiretroviral (ARV) treatment is available, psychological and social aspects of HIV/AIDS care are often neglected. This study aims to explore the life experiences of people living with HIV/AIDS (ODHA) in Indonesia, particularly their interactions with healthcare providers and family support. The study used a qualitative design with a descriptive phenomenological approach, involving an in-depth interview with a 47-year-old participant diagnosed with HIV for 5 months. The results show that feelings after diagnosis, treatment and its side effects, and social support significantly affect the quality of life of ODHA Furthermore, social stigma and discrimination remain major challenges faced by ODHA, although family support helps mitigate these negative impacts. The main themes identified in this study include feelings after the HIV diagnosis, treatment experiences and side effects, family support, social stigma and discrimination, physical and social conditions post-diagnosis, the role of healthcare providers in treatment and support, and optimism and hope for the future. This study recommends the importance of holistic care that includes physical, psychological, and social aspects to improve the quality of life for ODHA
