EFEKTIVITAS YOGA DALAM MENGURANGI GEJALA MENOPAUSE

Abstrak

Latar belakang: Menopause merupakan fase alami yang ditandai berhentinya fungsi ovarium secara permanen dan penurunan hormon reproduksi, yang sering disertai gejala seperti hot flashes, gangguan tidur, perubahan mood, nyeri sendi, serta keluhan urogenital yang berdampak pada kualitas hidup. Terapi hormonal efektif namun memiliki risiko tertentu, sehingga yoga sebagai intervensi non-farmakologis menjadi alternatif yang potensial. Tujuan: Mengetahui efektivitas yoga dalam menurunkan gejala menopause berdasarkan skor Menopause Rating Scale (MRS). Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi kasus tunggal pada seorang perempuan usia 52 tahun yang mengalami menopause selama enam bulan dengan keluhan hot flashes, nyeri sendi, kekeringan vagina, gangguan tidur, dan penurunan kenyamanan aktivitas. Intervensi yoga diberikan dalam beberapa sesi yang meliputi teknik pernapasan, relaksasi, dan gerakan yoga sesuai kondisi pasien. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan MRS sebelum dan setelah intervensi. Hasil: Terdapat penurunan skor MRS dari 16 (kategori sedang, batas atas) menjadi 6 (kategori ringan) setelah intervensi yoga, disertai penurunan keluhan somatik, urogenital, dan peningkatan kenyamanan aktivitas harian. Kesimpulan: Yoga berkontribusi terhadap penurunan gejala menopause dan peningkatan kenyamanan pasien sehingga dapat direkomendasikan sebagai intervensi non-farmakologis yang aman dan efektif. Penelitian lebih lanjut dengan jumlah sampel lebih besar dan durasi intervensi lebih panjang masih diperlukan untuk memperkuat temuan ini.
