Consumption of simple sugars has a 5.7 times risk of obesity. The results of a preliminary study conducted on 244 class X students at SMAN 53 Jakarta, the prevalence of overweight status in students was 24.1% with 18.4% of them experiencing overweight. This study aims to determine the relationship between sugar-sweetened beverage consumption and the risk of obesity in adolescents at SMA Negeri 53 Jakarta. The study was conducted on 221 respondents who were selected according to the criteria determined through purposive sampling technique. Obesity risk data was obtained through measurement of BMI, while consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages was measured based on the frequency of consumption of sweetened beverages which was converted into sufficient sugar intake (50g/day) through Semi Quantitative Food Frequency. The results of the chi square test analysis showed a relationship between consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages and the risk of obesity in adolescents at SMA Negeri 53 Jakarta. Adolescent students and schools are expected to contribute to limiting and controlling the consumption of sugary drinks as an effort to reduce the incidence of obesity.
Nourmayansa Vidya Anggraini, Lestarie Luhur Copyright (c) 2025 Nourmayansa Vidya Anggraini, Lestarie Luhur https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.institutkesehatanhermina.ac.id/JIKA/article/view/116 Wed, 16 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000 The Influence of Father's Class on Children's Growth and Development Knowledge at RS Hermina Yogyakarta https://jurnal.institutkesehatanhermina.ac.id/JIKA/article/view/121
The role of fathers in early child development is crucial but still not fully understood or implemented in Indonesia. The focus has traditionally been on mothers, often neglecting the father’s role. The Father’s Class is an intervention that provides education to fathers of newborns at Hermina Hospital Yogyakarta, using leaflets and explanations from doctors or midwives about infant growth and development during the first month. The aim of this study is to assess the knowledge level and the impact of the Father’s Class intervention on child development at Hermina Hospital Yogyakarta. This is an observational analytical study with a case-control design, conducted at Hermina Hospital Yogyakarta. The sample was taken through consecutive sampling. A total of 30 samples were needed, divided into two groups: 15 in the case group and 15 in the control group. The case group will receive the Father’s Class intervention, which lasts about 30 minutes and is conducted once when the mother and baby are in the joint care room. The Father’s Class intervention was more effective in increasing the respondents' knowledge about child development. Most respondents in the case group showed improved knowledge after receiving the intervention.
Syarif Hidayatullah Al Bahri, Nurina Mutia Farah, Indri Kurniawati, Iklima Anggarani Purbaningrum, Hilda Amalia, Moh Heri Kurniawan Copyright (c) 2025 Syarif Hidayatullah Al Bahri, Nurina Mutia Farah, Indri Kurniawati, Iklima Anggarani Purbaningrum, Hilda Amalia, Moh Heri Kurniawan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.institutkesehatanhermina.ac.id/JIKA/article/view/121 Wed, 16 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000 QUALITY OF HEALTH SERVICES FOR INPATIENTS USING BPJS AT SURAKARTA ORTHOPEDIC HOSPITAL https://jurnal.institutkesehatanhermina.ac.id/JIKA/article/view/125
The quality of health services is an important factor to describe patient satisfaction. However, at this time they are very vulnerable to illnesses that lead to fatal and dangerous conditions. This dangerous condition often occurs in the age range of infants to five years old. Of the many dangerous cases that occur, these are emergency cases that occur at home. Improper handling and assistance in emergencies when children are at home causes the child's condition to worsen and even result in death. This research method uses a quantitative descriptive research design with a cross sectional approach, namely looking at the perceptions and attitudes of parents about the signs and symptoms and the first handling of emergency cases of febrile seizures and diarrhea in children at home. The research was conducted at the Posyandu Curungrejo Village Kepanjen Malang Regency in July 2024 with a total sample of 61 people using purposive sampling technique. The sample selection criteria set were respondents who had never attended BLS/BTCLS training and the like and were not health workers (nurses and doctors). The data collection process used a questionnaire. Results: Parents' perceptions and attitudes about the signs and symptoms and the first treatment of febrile seizures and diarrhea emergencies in children at home are quite good. However, parents' perceptions on the aspects of normal temperature in children, signs of dangerous fever symptoms, the dangers of febrile seizures in children and signs of diarrhea symptoms were poor.
Sekarini -, Galuh Kumalasari, Ni Luh Diah Ayu Sita Dewi, Irgi Frananda Alfino Copyright (c) 2025 Sekarini -, Galuh Kumalasari, Ni Luh Diah Ayu Sita Dewi, Irgi Frananda Alfino https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.institutkesehatanhermina.ac.id/JIKA/article/view/129 Wed, 16 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000 HIV-AIDS STAGE ON PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING IN KDS TOP KEDUNGDORO https://jurnal.institutkesehatanhermina.ac.id/JIKA/article/view/131
Health-risk behaviors are often experienced by adolescents, such as drug use, or sexual risk behavior. Adolescents with chronic illnesses are at greater risk for mental health conditions because of their lives, stigma, discrimination or exclusion, or lack of access to quality support and services. Based on this description, it is still necessary to conduct a deeper identification of the HIV/AIDS stage conditions related to psychological wellbeing conditions. Method: The subjects of the study were 26 members of KDS TOP Kedungdoro who met the inclusion criteria. HIV stage 1-4 according to WHO. Psychological Wellbeing assessment used the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale (WEMWBS) questionnaire. Results: The results of the Spearman Rank analysis showed that there was no Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000. Because the Sig.(2-tailed) value > 0.05 means that there is no significant relationship between the two variables, namely the HIV-AIDS stage variable and the Psychological Wellbeing variable. The conclusion of the results of this study shows that there is no relationship between the HIV-AIDS stage and Psychological Wellbeing. Recommendations from the research results are expected to be able to conduct further research with a more adequate number of respondents so that the data obtained is more diverse and can conduct research to explore the factors that influence the HIV-AIDS stage and factors that influence Psychological Wellbeing such as quality of life, knowledge related to HIV and stigma experienced by respondents.
Gabriel Sinawang, Annastasia Putu Martha, Ni Ketut Suadnyaani Copyright (c) 2025 Gabriel Sinawang, Annastasia Putu Martha, Ni Ketut Suadnyaani https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.institutkesehatanhermina.ac.id/JIKA/article/view/131 Wed, 16 Apr 2025 00:00:00 +0000
